Jess Joins The Guilty Feminist Podcast on Tour and at The Royal Albert Hall!

This summer was a busy one, with Jess spending a month in Edinburgh performing her latest show. However, she has also been found touring with the award-winning feminist comedy podcast The Guilty Feminist! The podcast is recorded in front of a live studio audience and sees host Deborah Frances-White and her special guests – comedians, musicians and activists – discuss what it means to be a feminist in the 21st century and the double standards and hypocrisies that surround us. In May this year, The Guilty Feminist podcast went on the road and Jess went with it, appearing in six shows all over the UK, from Newcastle to Richmond.

Sharing the stage with hilarious and inspiring women such as Rosie Jones, Felicity Ward and Kemah Bob, Jess performed brilliantly and shared her own brand of musical comedy featuring a brand new original girl-power number. This tour focused on the topics ‘all 21st century feminists agree on’ and celebrated how far we’ve come whilst asking vital questions about how much still needs to be done. Jess interpreted this through an uplifting medley of musical impressions, featuring some of the greatest feminist icons, from Mary Poppins to Aretha Franklin.

These shows were not recorded for the podcast, but you can listen to Jess perform her ‘girl power mega-mix’ on stage with The Guilty Feminist podcast HERE.

Jess onstage at the London Palladium during the finale of the tour

Rounding off the tour on a truly epic note, the podcast took to the prestigious Royal Albert Hall where it was the second ever podcast to play the historic venue, after My Dad Wrote a Porno played there last year. This finale saw Deborah once again joined by her special guests, with an exclusive appearance from the one and only Hannah Gadsby! Jess was thrilled to be asked to accompany the podcast on this very special and unrepeatable night.
