New Edinburgh Festival Show 2016
Jess is returning to the Edinburgh Festival this year with her BRAND NEW show –
After the sell out and critically acclaimed and award winning Edinburgh Festival show ‘The Rise Of The Mighty Voice’ last year, the triple award winning vocal gymnast and impressionist Jess Robinson is back for the third consecutive year with her new show ‘Jess Robinson – Impressive’. This year she brings with her an incredible live band – bigger, better, bolder and more beautifully hysterical unique performances. This is a must see show!
“Naturally funny Jess Robinson serves up a remarkable range of impressions – from Lily Allen to Billie Holiday to Barbra Streisand, all pitch-perfect” TELEGRAPH ****
‘Impressive’ features well OVER 100 impressions, 99 of which are packed into 4 minute rap – ‘I got 99 voices but a bloke ain’t one’. As well as the Kim Kardashians, Nicola Sturgeons and Mary Berrys, Jess treats you to spot on singing impressions; from classic vintage stars, such as Judy Garland and an astoundingly uncanny Billie Holiday, to today’s global pop divas, including Beyoncé, Paloma Faith and Nicki Minaj – travelling via, Kate Bush and a spine-tingling Amy Winehouse.
“A star is born. The vocal gymnastics reach a crescendo with a show-stopper as breathless for Robinson as it is breathtaking for us.” METRO ****
Robinson and her band will surprise and delight with their improvised on the spot ‘musical revelations’. The now legendary Wheels Of Sixty-Four Tunes are back, spinning to randomly generate the most surprising and unlikely pairing of singer and song. Past combinations have seen Jess performing All About That Bass as Julie Andrews, Postman Pat as Lana Del Rey & Motörhead’s Ace Of Spades as Britney Spears!
“a stunning voice, is an incredibly talented impersonator and mixes this with a cheeky wry personality that makes you want to pop her in your pocket and take her home for tea.” EDINBURGH EVENING NEWS *****
With her fresh take on mimicry, cheeky wit and sharp stand up, Jess shares her hilariously tragic and heartbreakingly funny adventures during her whirlwind of a year, since leaving her spouse of just 18 months following last year’s Edinburgh festival. From joining a gang, to joining the circus, to nearly causing a plane to make an unscheduled landing.
“Robinson’s talent is stunning… a stand out act.” EDINBURGH REVIEWS ****
So party with Jess, her awesome band and a truckload of celebrities as Robinson celebrates her newfound freedom since divorcing ‘Practice Husband’. But now she has her freedom, what should she do with it?
